  1. Why Should I choose Beat Train Productions for my event?(Top)

Beat Train Productions is a small business that puts its focus in our customers and always strives to exceed expectations. We’re a boutique DJ company that’s 100% focused on delivering style, substance, and soul. When you hire us, you can be confident that you are dealing with an ultra reliable and experienced DJ, with a proven track record.

If you’re curious to read some of the swell things our clients have said about us, you can check out a handful of reviews on our testimonials page, as well as dozens more 5 star reviews on WeddingWire.com, Yelp.com, WeddingChannel.com (NYC) , and WeddingChannel.com (Boston),

Also, if you have a couple minutes, please feel free to check our our promo video w/ footage of Ari and video testimonials from past clients at Vimeo.com.

  2. What are your rates?(Top)

Our weekend rates vary between $1500 and $4000, based on a few factors such as the time of year and distance from New York.  Discounted weekday rates are available by request.

We are not the most economically priced DJ company, but it is our goal to offer an exceptional level of value based on our hard work, skill, focus, and professionalism.

  3. Do you require a deposit, will our date still be available next week?(Top)

We require a 50% deposit to secure the booking.

To make a long story short, if you contact us and then decide to proceed with booking us a few days (or weeks) later—there’s probably a good chance the date will still be available, but it is also possible that someone else put down a deposit and that the date is no longer available.  Like virtually all other DJ and event services companies, bookings are taken on a first come first served basis.

  4. Are you insured?(Top)

Yes, Beat Train Productions has $2,000,000 of liability insurance coverage.

  5. Do you take requests?(Top)

Of course. When you hire us, we’ll gladly work with you prior to the gig to establish what songs and genres, if any, you’d like to request and what songs and genres you’d like put on a “no-play list”.

Many of our clients trust us to use our discretion, exercise good taste, and do an excellent job reading the crowd-and will give us a limited number of requests—but that is up to you!

  6. What music genres do you play?(Top)

We tend to be quite versatile, and we’re able to accommodate a wide range of genres from big band jazz to motown to alternative and indie to hip hop to modern top 40 (etc etc etc).

However…If you are looking for line dance songs (like the macarena, for instance)- unfortunately I don’t believe we would be a good match for you. If you are searching for a (contemporary) country music DJ, regrettably, we do not have any familiarity with this genre.

  7. Are you able to emcee our event?(Top)

We are articulate emcees, but we prefer to keep our talking to a minimum and err on the side of subtlety.

We’re certainly happy to make any announcements and/or introductions that you request—but if you are looking for an interactive emcee to play games and teach line dances—I’m afraid we would not be the best DJ company for your event.

  8. What celebrity clients have you spun for before?(Top)

I have been on some of the other NYC DJ’s websites, and I am very impressed with their namedropping ability.  That said, I have chosen to respect my clients’ privacy, and to solely prove myself based on my hard work, determination, ability, and substance.
